PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) in Vaughan & Toronto

PRP starts with a small blood draw, exactly like a routine blood test. The sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich portion of your plasma, and that concentrate is then injected — or applied with microneedling — into the area being treated. Platelets carry growth factors involved in the body’s own repair processes.

Because the material comes from you, there is nothing foreign to react to. That is PRP’s main practical advantage over injectable products.

An honest note on regulation: PRP is a procedure using your own blood, not a licensed drug or device, so it does not carry a Health Canada approval for aesthetic use the way a filler or a neuromodulator does. Published results vary between studies, and it does not work for everyone. You will get a realistic assessment of whether you are a reasonable candidate, including when the answer is no.

Consultations are complimentary, confidential and carry no obligation. We see clients from across Vaughan, Maple, Woodbridge, Concord, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and north Toronto.

PRP Hair Restoration

For early thinning, while the follicles are still alive

PRP is injected across the areas of the scalp where hair has begun to thin. The aim is to support follicles that are still producing hair but producing it finer and shorter than they used to.

Timing is the single biggest factor. PRP cannot regrow hair from a follicle that has already died, so a scalp that has been smooth for years will not respond. Early, diffuse thinning — a widening part, a receding temple, less density at the crown — is where it is worth considering.

This is a course of treatment, not a single appointment. An initial series is usually spaced several weeks apart, with maintenance afterwards. Anyone promising results from one session is not being straight with you.

  • Best suited to early, active thinning — not long-established bald areas
  • A series of sessions, then maintenance
  • Uses your own blood, so no foreign material
  • Often combined with hair mesotherapy

PRP Facial

Skin quality rather than volume

PRP applied to the face targets texture, tone and overall skin quality rather than shape. It is the treatment to consider when skin looks dull or crepey but you do not want anything that changes your features.

Results build gradually over weeks as the skin responds, which makes it a poor choice if you need to look different by Saturday, and a good one if you are willing to invest in a slower, subtler change.

  • Targets texture and tone, not volume or contour
  • Gradual — changes build over weeks
  • Pairs naturally with microneedling

PRP with Microneedling

Also known as the vampire facial

Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin; applying PRP immediately afterwards delivers the plasma concentrate into that freshly treated surface rather than leaving it to sit on top.

It is the most requested PRP treatment here, and the most sensible combination for anyone whose main concerns are texture, pore appearance and shallow scarring. Healing is also faster than with microneedling alone, because the platelets speed up the skin’s repair process. Expect redness resembling sunburn for roughly 24 to 48 hours.

  • Combines two treatments in one appointment
  • Faster healing: platelets speed up repair
  • 24–48 hours of redness is normal
  • See microneedling for the device on its own

PRP for Acne Scars & Stretch Marks

For textured scarring, not active breakouts

Rolling and boxcar acne scars are depressions in the skin’s surface. Combined with microneedling, PRP is used to encourage remodelling of that tissue so the edges soften and the surface becomes more even.

Two honest caveats. This treats the scar, not the acne — active breakouts need a skincare plan first, because treating skin mid-flare can make things worse. And scar work is measured in improvement, not erasure: a realistic goal is scarring that is harder to notice, not skin that looks as though it never scarred.

  • For textured scarring — treat active acne first
  • Improvement, not erasure
  • Multiple sessions required

Acne Rejuvenation

Calming skin that is past the active stage

Once breakouts are under control, what usually remains is uneven tone, lingering redness and post-inflammatory marks. This is the stage where PRP is used to support recovery of the skin surface.

Sequence matters: control the acne, then address what it left behind. Doing it the other way round wastes money and can aggravate inflamed skin.

  • For the recovery stage, after breakouts are controlled
  • Addresses tone and post-inflammatory marks
  • Planned alongside your skincare routine

PRP Hand Rejuvenation

The area most people forget

Hands age visibly and are rarely protected the way the face is. Thinning skin, more prominent veins and tendons, and sun damage tend to appear here earlier than people expect.

PRP is used to improve skin quality on the back of the hand: it hydrates the skin and supports its texture and tone. It addresses the skin itself rather than the underlying volume loss — where prominence of veins and tendons is the main concern, that is a different conversation, and we will have it honestly.

  • Hydrates and improves skin quality and texture
  • Daily sunscreen on hands matters as much as treatment

PRP GEL

Your own plasma, processed into a thicker form

PRP GEL uses the same starting point as standard PRP — your own blood, spun to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma — but processes it further into a thicker, gel-like consistency rather than a fluid.

Because it holds its form better once placed, it stays where it is put for longer than liquid PRP, and is used where a little structure is wanted alongside the skin-quality effect — the under-eye area and the temples being the usual requests.

PRP GEL is also a great alternative for people for whom hyaluronic acid fillers are not an option, for example those prone to water retention and swelling with HA filler.

It remains entirely autologous: nothing foreign is introduced, and the same regulatory caveat applies as to all PRP. It is a procedure using your own blood, not a licensed product, so it carries no Health Canada approval for aesthetic use.

  • Same blood draw, processed to a thicker consistency
  • Holds its form better than liquid PRP
  • An alternative when HA fillers are not suitable (water retention, swelling)
  • Commonly requested for under-eye hollowing and temples
  • Autologous — nothing foreign introduced

Frequently Asked Questions

The material is your own blood, so there is no risk of an allergic reaction to a foreign substance. The main considerations are the same as any injection: bruising, swelling, tenderness, and a small infection risk managed by sterile technique. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain blood disorders, clotting conditions or active infections — which is why your medical history is reviewed first.

The blood draw feels like a standard blood test. Topical numbing is used before injection or microneedling. Scalp treatment is the one most people find least comfortable, and is numbed thoroughly.

PRP is a course, not a one-off. A typical initial series is three sessions spaced several weeks apart, followed by maintenance. The exact plan depends on the area and your response, and is discussed at consultation rather than sold as a fixed package up front.

Published evidence is mixed and varies by indication — it is stronger for early hair thinning than for some other uses, and results differ between individuals. PRP is not a licensed drug or device in Canada for aesthetic purposes. You will be given a realistic view of your likelihood of benefit, including when the answer is that it is not worth your money.

Injection-only treatments: little to none, beyond possible bruising. Combined with microneedling: expect redness like moderate sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, and avoid makeup for 72 hours, and swimming and heavy exercise for the first day.

Tell us at consultation. Blood-thinning medication increases bruising and can affect platelet concentration. Never stop prescribed medication without advice from the doctor who prescribed it — we will work around it or advise against treatment.
