Dermal fillers are gels made from hyaluronic acid — a sugar molecule your skin already produces — that are placed under the skin to restore volume, soften lines and refine facial contours. Because hyaluronic acid draws and holds water, fillers also hydrate the tissue they sit in, which is part of why treated areas look fresher rather than simply fuller.
At Beauty Maison Aesthetics in Maple, Vaughan, filler is never sold by the syringe. Sonya is a Registered Practical Nurse who has been practising since 2009 and holds certifications in injectables from the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. Every appointment starts by looking at your face as a whole: one person may need a single syringe in one area, another may need none at all and a completely different treatment instead. You will be told honestly which applies to you.
Consultations are complimentary, confidential and carry no obligation. We see clients from across Vaughan, Maple, Woodbridge, Concord, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and north Toronto.
Lip Fillers
Definition and hydration, not just volume
Lip filler restores volume and elasticity that naturally decreases with age, and improves hydration in tissue that tends to dry out first. It can correct asymmetry, define a soft or flattened lip border, and smooth the fine vertical lines that form around the mouth over time.
A defined lip line also has a practical benefit that clients mention often: lipstick stays where you put it instead of bleeding into the surrounding skin.
The goal here is balance with the rest of your face, not a dramatic change. If you want a very subtle result, say so — it is far easier to add a little more at a review appointment than to dissolve something you dislike.
- Treats: volume loss, asymmetry, undefined lip border, fine lip lines
- Typical appointment: 30–45 minutes including numbing
- Results visible immediately; final shape settles once swelling resolves
- Most people return to normal activity the same day

Cheek Filler
Rebuilding the support the rest of the face rests on
The midface is usually where volume loss shows up first, and it rarely announces itself as “flat cheeks.” More often people notice the consequences: a tired look that sleep does not fix, deeper folds running from nose to mouth, or makeup settling into areas it never used to.
Replacing support high on the cheekbone lifts the tissue below it. That is why treating the cheek often softens the nasolabial folds without injecting the folds themselves — and why filling the fold directly, without addressing the cause above it, tends to look heavy.
- Treats: midface volume loss, flattening, nose-to-mouth folds
- Often reduces the need for filler lower in the face
- Structural filler in this area is typically longer lasting than in mobile areas
Chin Fillers
Balance and profile
A recessed or short chin changes how the whole profile reads — it can make the nose look larger than it is and blur the line between the jaw and the neck. Small, well-placed amounts of filler here often do more for facial balance than a larger volume anywhere else.
Chin filler is frequently combined with jawline treatment, because the two areas form a single visual line. During your consultation we will look at your profile as well as your front view, since the difference is usually most obvious from the side.
- Treats: recessed or short chin, weak profile, soft jaw-to-neck transition
- Commonly paired with jawline filler
- A non-surgical option to consider before implants

Jawline Filler
A cleaner line between face and neck
As skin loses elasticity, the jaw border softens and small pockets of tissue settle just in front of it. Filler placed along the jaw restores a defined edge and can camouflage early jowling, which tends to read as a tighter, more rested face overall.
This is one of the most requested treatments by clients in their forties and fifties, and it is equally popular with men, where a defined jaw is often the single change that makes the biggest difference.
- Treats: soft or undefined jaw border, early jowling
- Works with chin filler as a single contour
- Suits both women and men
Tear Trough Filler
For hollowing under the eyes — assessed carefully
The hollow that forms between the lower eyelid and the cheek casts a shadow that reads as permanent tiredness, regardless of how much you have slept. Filler placed deep in this area can soften that shadow.
This is the area where honest assessment matters most. The tear trough is unforgiving: the skin is thin, the anatomy is close to important structures, and not everyone is a suitable candidate. Where dark circles are caused by pigmentation, thin skin or fluid retention rather than volume loss, filler will not help and may make the area look puffier. If that is the case, you will be told so and offered an alternative.
- Treats: true volume-related under-eye hollowing
- Not suitable for every client — assessment required
- Alternatives offered where filler is not the right answer

Marionette Lines Filler
Softening the lines that turn the mouth down
Marionette lines run from the corners of the mouth toward the chin. They are one of the features most likely to make a face look unhappy or stern at rest, which is usually the reason people ask about them — not the line itself, but what it communicates.
Treatment usually combines support placed around the line with restored volume further up the face, since these lines deepen partly because tissue above them has descended. Treating the line alone rarely gives a natural result.
- Treats: downturned mouth corners, lines from mouth to chin
- Usually part of a wider plan, not an isolated injection
- Often combined with chin or cheek treatment
Filler For Men
Structure, not softness
Male facial aesthetics follow different rules. Where a feminine result often means softness and lift, a masculine one usually means a straighter jaw, a wider chin and a flatter cheek — the opposite of what would suit most female clients. Using the same technique on everyone is how treated men end up looking subtly wrong without anyone being able to say why.
The most common requests from male clients here are jawline definition, chin projection and under-eye hollowing. Discretion is standard: most men want to look less tired, not obviously treated.
- Most requested: jawline, chin, under-eye
- Technique adjusted for masculine proportions
- Subtle results, minimal downtime

Radiesse®
A collagen stimulator, not a hyaluronic acid filler
Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a gel carrier. Beyond structural support, it can be diluted and injected under the skin, where it activates fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin. It stimulates type I and type III collagen (the types that can be mechanically stimulated) and elastin, so the skin becomes firmer and tighter, with a lifting effect.
That makes it a different proposition from the hyaluronic acid fillers described above. The gel part lasts only two to four months and gives the immediate result; it is then replaced by your own collagen and elastin, and the best results are seen two to four months after treatment. By about a year the product itself is eliminated from the body, but the collagen and elastin it produced last up to two years. It is firmer than hyaluronic acid filler and well suited to structural areas such as the jawline, chin and the back of the hands.
The trade-off matters and is not always mentioned: Radiesse cannot be dissolved. Hyaluronic acid filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase if you are unhappy; this cannot. It is therefore not used in the lips, and it calls for a more conservative approach everywhere else.
It is a good choice where you want structure and longevity in a stable area, and the wrong choice if being able to reverse the result matters to you.
- Stimulates type I and III collagen and elastin
- Best for jawline, chin and hands; not used in lips
- Best results at 2–4 months; collagen lasts up to 2 years
- Cannot be dissolved, unlike hyaluronic acid filler
Radiesse® for Hands
Softening visible veins and tendons
Hands lose volume with age just as the face does. The skin on the back of the hand thins, and veins, tendons and knuckles start to show more — often making hands look older than the face above them.
Radiesse is placed under the skin of the back of the hand and spread evenly. It restores a smooth layer of volume straight away, and as the gel is absorbed it stimulates your own collagen, which improves skin thickness over the following months.
The result is hands that look softer and less bony, not filled. One session is usually enough, with a touch-up at around a year. Swelling for a few days is normal, so avoid booking right before an event where your hands will be on show.
- Smooths visible veins, tendons and knuckles
- Builds collagen in thin skin
- Usually one session; lasts around a year or longer
- A few days of swelling is normal

Radiesse® for the Neck
For crepey skin and horizontal neck lines
The neck often shows age before the face does: thin, crepey skin and horizontal “necklace” lines that creams do little for.
Here Radiesse is used diluted, as a biostimulator rather than a filler. Spread in a fine layer under the skin, it does not add visible volume — it prompts the skin to rebuild collagen, so texture and firmness improve gradually, with the best results at two to four months.
A course of one to two sessions, four months apart, is typical. Diluted biostimulator use on the neck is not a licensed indication for every product, and you will be told which applies before you consent.
- Improves crepey texture and fine neck lines
- Diluted biostimulator — no visible filler
- Best results at 2–4 months
- 1–2 sessions, 4 months apart
Earlobe Filler
For thin, sagging or stretched earlobes
Years of heavier earrings, and simple ageing, can leave earlobes thin and droopy, with piercing holes that have stretched into slits so earrings tilt forward.
A small amount of hyaluronic acid filler restores volume to the lobe and supports the piercing, so earrings sit straight again and the lobe looks fuller. It takes a few minutes, with very little downtime.
Filler cannot close a torn or split lobe — that needs a minor surgical repair — but it helps where the lobe is thin or the hole has stretched. Earlobe filler is an off-label use of hyaluronic acid filler, and like all hyaluronic acid filler it can be dissolved if needed.
- Restores volume to thin, droopy earlobes
- Helps earrings sit straight again
- Quick, with minimal downtime
- Off-label use; reversible with hyaluronidase
