Fat-Dissolving Injections in Vaughan & Toronto

Injection lipolysis targets small, localised pockets of fat that stay put no matter how disciplined you are — most commonly under the chin (the “double chin”), and also on the upper arms, abdomen and inner thighs. The injected solution disrupts fat cell membranes so the contents are cleared by the body over the following weeks.

The regulatory position is worth understanding before you book. Beauty Maison uses PCDC, a compounded solution of phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate, given under the direction of our medical director, Arjay Ordona, MN, NP, RN(EC), ENC(C). Research shows that this combination of phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxycholate (DC) works better for fat-dissolving injections than deoxycholate alone. PCDC is not a Health Canada approved product for fat reduction, so every area treated with it is off-label use. The only approved injection for fat reduction in Canada is a deoxycholic acid product, and it is approved for fat under the chin only. Both are widely practised; they are not equally regulated, and you are told exactly what is used before you consent.

What this is not: a weight-loss treatment. It is a contouring treatment for specific small areas, on people already close to their stable weight.

Consultations are complimentary, confidential and carry no obligation. We see clients from across Vaughan, Maple, Woodbridge, Concord, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and north Toronto.

How It Works

Gradual, over several weeks

A grid of small injections is placed into the fat layer of the treatment area. The solution disrupts the membranes of fat cells in that pocket, and the body clears the released contents gradually over the following weeks.

Expect noticeable swelling for several days afterwards — under the chin it can be pronounced, and it is the main reason people take time off socially rather than physically. Firmness, tenderness and numbness in the area are all normal and settle.

Results appear over weeks, not days, and most areas need more than one session. Two to four is typical, spaced roughly a month apart.

  • Results build over weeks as the body clears the area
  • Significant swelling for several days is expected
  • Usually 2–4 sessions, about a month apart

Which Areas Can Be Treated

Small, defined pockets — not large areas

Under the chin is the most requested area by a wide margin. Submental fullness is also notoriously resistant to weight loss, which is why people look for something else.

The other areas treated here are the upper arms, the abdomen and the inner thighs. With PCDC, every area, including under the chin, is off-label use. Pricing here is per area, and how many areas and sessions you need is worked out at consultation.

Good candidates are close to a stable weight with a defined pocket you can pinch. If the concern is loose skin rather than fat, this treatment will not help and may make laxity more obvious — you will be told that up front.

  • Double chin, upper arms, abdomen, inner thighs
  • All areas off-label with PCDC
  • For pinchable pockets, not loose skin
  • Priced per area

What It Is Not

Worth being blunt about

It is not a weight-loss treatment, and it is not liposuction. It removes a small quantity of fat from a defined area. It will not change your clothing size, and it will not substitute for the things that actually change body composition.

It also does not tighten skin. Where laxity is the real issue — and under the chin the two often travel together — reducing the fat beneath can leave the looseness more visible rather than less. That assessment matters more than the injection technique, and is why the consultation exists.

If you are told at consultation that you are not a good candidate, that is the service working as intended.

  • Not weight loss, not liposuction
  • Does not tighten skin
  • Best on people already near a stable weight
  • Some people are told no — that is the point of assessing first

Frequently Asked Questions

Fat cells destroyed by the treatment do not return. However, the cells that remain in the area can still enlarge if you gain weight, so the result holds best alongside a stable weight. It is not a licence to stop everything else.

Not the product used here. Beauty Maison uses PCDC, a compounded phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate solution, which is not a Health Canada approved product for fat reduction — every area is treated off-label. The only approved fat-reducing injection in Canada is a deoxycholic acid product, approved since 2016 for fat under the chin only. Ask any clinic which product it uses; a good one will tell you without hesitation.

Under the chin, a lot, and for several days. It is the single thing people are least prepared for. Plan around it: do not book before an event, a holiday, or anything you would rather not be photographed at.

There is stinging and a burning sensation during and shortly after injection, which is expected and settles. Numbing is used. The area is commonly tender, firm and numb for a week or two afterwards.

Typically two to four per area, spaced about a month apart, though some people are satisfied after one. It depends on the size of the pocket and how you respond.

It is not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over infected or broken skin, with certain bleeding conditions, or where the concern is loose skin rather than fat. Your medical history and the area are both assessed before anything is booked.
