Microneedling in Vaughan & Toronto

Microneedling uses a device with fine sterile needles to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. Those tiny, deliberate injuries prompt the skin’s normal repair response, and the collagen laid down during that repair is what gradually improves texture.

It is a workhorse treatment: useful for enlarged-looking pores, rough or uneven texture, fine lines and shallow acne scarring, on skin of any tone. Unlike many light-based devices, microneedling does not rely on pigment contrast, so it is generally suitable for darker skin types where some lasers are not.

Results build over a course of sessions rather than appearing after one. Most people need three to six treatments spaced several weeks apart, then occasional maintenance.

Consultations are complimentary, confidential and carry no obligation. We see clients from across Vaughan, Maple, Woodbridge, Concord, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and north Toronto.

Face & Neck

The standard treatment

Microneedling across the face, with the neck included where needed. The neck is worth treating: it ages faster than the face, is routinely left out of skincare routines, and an obviously smooth face above an untreated neck is a giveaway.

Expect redness like moderate sunburn for a day or two, and some flaking a few days later as the surface renews. Makeup goes back on after 72 hours.

  • Treats: texture, pore appearance, fine lines, shallow scarring
  • Suitable for all skin tones
  • 3–6 sessions, several weeks apart
  • 24–48 hours of redness

With PRP

Your own plasma, delivered into the channels

The micro-channels are used as a delivery route for platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood at the start of the appointment. See PRP for how the plasma is prepared.

The platelets also speed up the healing process, so recovery is faster than with microneedling alone. This is the combination most often chosen for acne scarring and for overall skin quality, and it is the one usually meant by “vampire facial”.

  • Uses your own blood — nothing foreign introduced
  • Most requested combination for scarring
  • Faster healing than microneedling alone

With Mesotherapy

A tailored cocktail instead of plasma

Instead of plasma, a solution of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and other ingredients is applied into the treated surface, chosen for your skin’s particular concern — dehydration, dullness or uneven tone.

It avoids the blood draw, which some people prefer, and lets the ingredients be matched to the problem. As with mesotherapy generally, the products used are Health Canada approved, but not for injection, so injecting them is considered off-label use, which is legal; see mesotherapy for the detail.

  • No blood draw required
  • Solution tailored to your skin
  • Health Canada approved products, used off-label (legal)

Vampire Facial

The name everyone knows it by

The “vampire facial” is microneedling with PRP — the same treatment described above, under the name it picked up from celebrity coverage. There is no separate procedure and no reason it should cost more because of the name.

One thing worth knowing, because it made headlines: infections linked to this treatment have occurred at facilities that reused equipment or handled blood improperly. Single-use sterile needle cartridges and proper handling of your own blood are not optional extras — ask about them anywhere you book, here included.

  • Same treatment as microneedling with PRP
  • Single-use sterile cartridges, every time
  • Ask any clinic how they handle blood — a good one will answer plainly

Botox Microneedling Facial

Micro-dosed toxin across the surface

Microneedling combined with a very small, widely distributed dose of botulinum toxin applied across the skin surface rather than injected into the expression muscles.

At this dilution and depth the toxin is not intended to relax your expressions. What it targets is oil production, shine and fine surface crinkling — so the result is a smoother, more matte finish rather than a frozen one. If frown lines or crow’s feet are your actual concern, standard treatment is what you want, and the two are not interchangeable.

It suits oily or combination skin and enlarged-looking pores particularly well. Downtime is the same as microneedling alone: redness like moderate sunburn for 24 to 48 hours.

Because a prescription drug is involved, it is administered under a prescriber’s authorisation, and this particular use is off-label.

  • Targets shine, pore appearance and surface texture
  • Does not relax expression — different treatment, different goal
  • Suits oily and combination skin
  • Off-label use of a prescription drug

Frequently Asked Questions

Topical numbing cream is applied for 20 to 30 minutes beforehand, after which most people describe a vibration and mild scratching rather than pain. Bonier areas such as the forehead and jawline are the most noticeable.

Redness resembling moderate sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, sometimes with slight swelling. Light flaking can follow a few days later. No makeup for 72 hours, no swimming, sauna or heavy exercise for the first day, and sunscreen daily afterwards.

Most concerns need three to six sessions spaced several weeks apart, with maintenance afterwards. Acne scarring generally needs more sessions than texture or pore appearance. You will get a realistic number at consultation, not an open-ended package.

Yes. Microneedling works mechanically rather than by targeting pigment, so it does not carry the same risk of pigment change that some laser treatments do on darker skin. Your skin is still assessed individually, and post-treatment sun protection matters.

Not over active, inflamed breakouts — needling through them can spread bacteria and worsen inflammation. Acne is brought under control first with a skincare plan, then the scarring is treated.

Skin often looks brighter within a week, but the real change is collagen remodelling, which takes weeks to months and builds across sessions. If you need to look your best for an event, book at least two weeks ahead — never the same week.
